Michelle Leonard-EdelbrockPresident Michelle has 29 years’ experience in the Medical Billing and Collection Management field. She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan (BS) and is a founding principal of The AccuMed Group. Michelle has an entrepreneurial mindset and continuously collaborates with her Management Team to drive processes and positive change to ensure The AccuMed Group clients maintain access leading edge Medical Claims Management, consultation and Electronic Medical Record solutions.
Ned SuddendorfChief Operations Officer Ned is a graduate of Cleary University and Mid-Western Management Institute. Ned joined The AccuMed Group in 1997 and has been directly involved in the Health Care Billing and Collection industry for over 30 years. Prior to The AccuMed Group, Ned Directed operations for Professional Data Care (Part B Radiology billing for Trinity Health Care Systems) and was Director of Operations for Credit Bureau, Inc., where Ned oversaw and managed four, third party debt collection agencies and annual receivables in excess of 100 million. With the objective of delivering on the promise of revenue optimization in a compliant environment, Ned oversees all operations and strategic planning initiatives at The AccuMed Group.
John MastersChief Information Officer John Masters, Chief Information Officer, is responsible for supporting the technology initiatives for mission-critical systems, business applications, research and development, and administrative functions of The AccuMed Group. John joined The AccuMed Group in 2007 as the company’s Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all technology, telecommunications, wide area networking, local area networking, desktop support, application support, IT security, disaster recovery planning, application training and support, and application development. John manages The AccuMed Group technology and software solution teams, and is responsible for establishing and managing relationships with technical consultants and other vendors supporting technical initiatives. Prior to joining The AccuMed Group, John worked as a Director of Technical Services for a Midwest print-mail company, during which time all of the company’s information technology-related positions were restructured under this position. John has also served as Vice President of Software Development and co-owner of Integral Software Systems, L.L.C. in Ann Arbor, Michigan. John holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from Northern Illinois University.
Teri JohnsonVice President Teri has been with The AccuMed Group since 1991. She has successfully managed all Medical Claims Management functions and activities and is committed to delivering compliant results to the customers we serve. Teri has obtained certification through the National Academy of Accredited Coders as a Certified Ambulance Compliance Officer (CACO) and Certified Ambulance Privacy Officer (CAPO) accreditation programs. She has also completed several management programs which enables her to direct and manage all claims management activity. She is exceedingly proficient in process management, project management, and innovative thinking. She is actively pursuing her Master’s Degree in Health Administration.
Tammy CoxDirector of Human Resources Tammy is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University’s Society for Human Resource Management Program and has earned her PHR and SHRM-CP certifications. She is an accomplished HR professional with 21 years of experience in the public and private sectors. Tammy is highly proficient in developing and implementing innovative human resource management strategies that enable The AccuMed group to recruit, train and retain a high performing and motivated workforce.
Barbara HillCorporate Compliance / HIPAA Officer Barbara has been employed with The AccuMed Group since 1994. The vast knowledge Barbara has gained by working within all AccuMed Departments is a key variable to Barbara’s success as a Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer. Barbara is a graduate of the National Academy of Accredited Coders, Certified Ambulance Compliance Officer and (CACO) and Certified Ambulance Privacy Officer (CAPO) Programs and oversees day to day and strategic compliance initiatives.
Manager, Client Services
Jodi has been employed with AccuMed since March 2016. She is responsible for overseeing all coding activities. Prior to joining AccuMed, Jodi worked in the private EMS sector, bringing with her 20 years of private ambulance experience. Jodi started her EMS career as an EMT then moved into the billing operations for the last eleven years. Jodi has been successful in developing documentation training for EMS personnel, and continues to be passionate about education for all areas within EMS. Jodi holds a State of Michigan EMT license, as well as a NAAC Certified Ambulance Coding certification. Jodi is currently working on a Bachelor’s degree in Technical HealthCare Management at DeVry University.
Lea is a graduate of Detroit Business Institute, where she earned her certificate in Medical Billing and Coding and is NAAC certified. She joined The AccuMed Group in 2000 and has cross trained in many of the departments within the company. Beginning in 2002 through 2018 she was Manager of our Detroit Office. She manages the daily operations and strategic objectives of the accounts receivable cycle through design, implementation, maintenance and management of all accounts receivable. Lea works diligently with other department managers and staff towards achieving the end goal of accurate, timely remittance of revenue. Lea strictly adheres to procedure and policies of the organization and implements quality productivity to ensure customer service standards are met.
Lisa WalshManager, Patient Account Services Lisa has been employed with The AccuMed Group since 1999. Lisa has worked in the medical billing field since 1984. Lisa and her team are tasked with the vital role of ushering the patients you service through the complex process of medical billing. Lisa and her team understand that AccuMed is an extension of the Customers we serve and will uphold the principles and integrity of our Customers at all times. Prior to AccuMed, Lisa held a management role with a multi-provider medical practice.
Kelly NickelsManager, Revenue Cycle Management Kelly holds a BA in Health Policy Studies from the University of Michigan and is NAAC certified. Kelly joined The AccuMed Group in 2014 and brought with her 20 years of experience in the ambulance industry. Kelly and her team actively monitor and act upon all payor trends to optimize compliant revenue. The Revenue Cycle Management Team routinely utilize cutting edge technology to actively manage and accelerate reimbursement. Kelly and her team also invest in daunting manual processes to ensure no rock is left uncovered when it comes to turning receivables into revenue.
